Hayden Whipple joined Boyle, Deveny & Meyer in 2021. He holds a Master’s in Accountancy and is currently pursuing his CPA license. As a lifelong Missoulian, Hayden is passionate about providing local support to businesses in his community. Outside of work, Hayden enjoys the beautiful Montana outdoors while maintaining his bee hives and every May he spends a long weekend paddle fishing along the Missouri River. You can find him in the summer on the Blue Mountain Folf course, enjoying lake days with his family, or in the rough of a local golf course. In the fall, he spends his time hopefully harvesting honey or cheering on the Griz through a strong playoff season.
Russ joined the firm in 2024, bringing over a decade of experience in public accounting. Born and raised in Butte, he understands the value of hard work and strong relationships. With degrees in Accounting and Finance from the University of Montana, Russ’s focus has been on business and individual taxation and consulting. He prides himself as being in the people business of partnering with clients to help them succeed. He has served on a number of boards over the years, most recently with the Montana Society of CPAs where he continues to foster meaningful bonds with his peers across this great state. When not in the office, Russ enjoys being active and outdoors. He spends his limited free time chasing kids and practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Whether playing on Flathead Lake or cheering on the Griz, he is never far from his wife, two daughters, son, and dogs.
Lindsey Trent, CPA, was raised in Missoula and graduated from the University of Montana with a bachelor’s degree in accounting in 2016, followed by a Masters of Accountancy in 2017. After graduation, she moved to Portland, OR and worked as a financial statement auditor with PwC for six years. She returned to her hometown in 2020 and joined BDM in 2023 where she specializes in financial statement preparation, compilations, and reviews. When not in the office, Lindsey enjoys hiking, golfing, exploring national parks, and spending time with family and friends.
Shannon Sullivan was born and raised in Butte. She went to school at the University of Montana and graduated in 2016 with Bachelor’s degrees in Accounting and International Business. After college, she moved to Bozeman and then to the Seattle area to work in public accounting. In 2019, Shannon and her partner decided to move back to Missoula. Shannon joined BDM in 2022 and works primarily in individual and business taxation. Places Shannon can be found around Missoula: at a brewery, on the river, on the trails or at a concert. She loves Missoula and is so happy to be able to work with the wonderful people in this community.
Melanie Bengtson arrived from Germany to earn a Master’s in Organic Chemistry from the University of Montana in 2002. After a short stint with a biotech company in Colorado, she sensed there was no opportunity for a chemist and started at an automotive shop as a lube and tire technician. She earned an Associate of Occupational Science – Automotive Technology from Westwood College and advanced to ASE certified master mechanic. She moved back to Montana and after a substantial life changing event decided to return to the University of Montana to earn a Master’s in Accountancy from the University of Montana in 2016. Melanie joined another Missoula CPA firm as a tax season intern in January 2015 and progressed to tax senior by June 2022. A unique focus was on individuals and businesses with international transactions, as well as multi-state businesses. Melanie joined BDM as a tax accountant in August 2022. She is currently on the board of the Healthy Acres Healthy Communities Foundation. Outside of work, she lives on acreage outside of Missoula with a few beef cows, a flock of chickens and a large garden. When not at home, she can be found in the mountains with her dogs or horse.
Tiffany is a Missoula native and brings 26 years of customer relations experience to her position as an office administrator. She enjoys a variety of activities ranging from biking, hiking, and paddleboarding, to reading, painting, and spending time at her family place on Flathead Lake with her husband and son.
Lindsey grew up in Whitefish and made her trek to Missoula in 2008 for college. She graduated with a variety of degrees and added a Masters of Business to the list soon after her undergrad. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, reading, traveling, and teaching ballet at two local dance studios.
Lisa was raised on a farm and ranch in Montana. In 2000, she moved to Missoula where she learned to enjoy the big city life. She has worked in the financial industry for many years and enjoys providing bookkeeping and payroll services to our clients. Lisa has two children that she loves to follow in everything they do, as well as spend time with family and friends.
Lee was born in San Francisco and grew up in Billings. She moved to Missoula in 2003 right after graduating from MSU Billings with a B.S. in accounting. She is married, has one daughter and one stepdaughter, one dog, and two cats. Lee loves hiking, camping, and going to Flathead Lake with her family.
Abby was born and raised in Missoula and received her B.S. in accounting from the University of Montana in 2014. When she is not hustling and busing her three kids to their numerous sport activities, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Dan, getting outside and exploring all Montana has to offer, rooting on the Griz and getting lost in a good book.
